Organic cotton

Bawełna organiczna

We want to make sure that the production process of the clothes we sell is harmless. Living in harmony with nature and other people will always be in the first place in our choice making. Traditional cotton plantations are often places where workers are exploited, and it takes as much as 6% of the world's freshwater resources to irrigate them.

It’s all about the origin

We will not allow our clothes to be made at the expense of slave labour – neither children nor adults. We demand decent wages for employees, crops that do not damage the ecosystem. We don't want pesticides, soil contamination. We want to be in sync with the nature. We know it is possible – and the production of organic cotton proves it.

Production under scrutiny

The production of organic cotton, i.e. GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified cotton, meets several very restrictive standards. Crops grow without artificial fertilizers, no pesticides are allowed and the use of chemicals is strictly controlled. Cotton seeds are not genetically modified in any way, and the use of bleach, which could afterward get into water and soil, is also prohibited. An efficient sewage treatment system is also there to protect these natural resources. The cotton packing method is also under GOTS criteria – no traditional plastic is allowed.

Features that matter

Organic cotton is soft and durable – there is no need to say it. What matters to us, however, is that its fibers are chemicals free – they are not polluted. This fabric is extremely breathable (does not make us sweat) and allergy sufferers friendly (does not contribute to allergic skin lesions).

Organic cotton in numbers

About 30 million people work in the textile industry – the Global Organic Textile Standard guarantees that no one producing certified materials got harmed during his/her work.
It takes 10000 liters of water on average to produce 1 kilogram of traditional cotton One T-shirt equals 2720 liters of water. This is the amount that would last a person for about 900 days. The GOTS certificate guarantees that water consumption does not put in danger the local ecosystem – 80% of organic cotton is watered with rain.
